The tranlation of "artazopak" would be something like "cornsoup". But in reality isn´t a soup. It's a hot drink made with milk and cormeal that years ago, was a typical meal in the farms from Euskal Herria. Milk and cornmeal were not lacking in the farms, it was a cheap meal, comfortabele in the cold winter and very nutritious. The recipe is very simple. First you make a dought with cornmeal and water. This dough is baked in the wood oven about one hour. Later, you have to cut the cornbread in small pieces, heat the milk until boiling, and add the corn. Heat all together about 15-20 minutes ang that all!
If you take a good pot of "Artazopak", you will not have to turn on the heat!

Thank you for shearing with us this recipe. I´ m sure it will keep anyone warm! It looks so delicious!

Uaauu, harrituta!! Basque cuisine in English!! I like it, and I also thought about it but I had enough with writing in Basque and Spanish. Artazopak? I think we call it "morokil" and I like it, extremely traditional although we don't do it so often any more.
